Anxiety and fear can make you put off important trips to the dentist for months or even years, compromising the health of your smile.
We offer multiple forms of sedation dentistry at our practice in Victoria, TX, to help you overcome your fears and improve your oral health.
So how can sedation help me?
Sedation Dentistry Allows You to Completely Relax in the Dentist Chair
Sedation allows you to undergo the procedures you need without pain. With three types of sedation available at our office, you can receive necessary treatments in the most comfortable way possible.
Since you are more comfortable and relaxed, Dr. Robert Zboril, can perform your dental work more quickly. In many cases, he can complete all the necessary care without the need for a second appointment.
Peace of Mind
Sedation erases feelings of fear and anxiety, allowing you to lay back and relax in the dentist's chair. For many of our patients, one treatment with sedation helps them overcome their fears so they don’t need sedation again.
Mild to Deep Types of Sedation
The type of sedation you need will depend on how extensive your procedure is, your health, and other factors.
Also known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide works quickly and helps you feel totally relaxed. With nitrous oxide, Dr. Zboril will place a mask over your nose and have you breathe in a mixture of oxygen and nitrous. Typically, this type of sedation is used for simple procedures.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Dr. Zboril is certified to perform oral sedation in the state of Texas. If you choose this type, we will provide you with a prescription oral sedative to take before your appointment. The pill will make you feel drowsy and relaxed.
At our practice, IV sedation is performed by a qualified sedation specialist. This form of sedation is administered directly into the bloodstream. It works quickly and our team can easily control the level of sedation throughout treatment. We generally recommend IV sedation for more extensive procedures.
About Sedation Dentistry
If You Suffer from Dental Anxiety, You Are Not Alone
Professional, Thorough, Friendly...
"Great experience! Dr. Rob and his staff were very professional, thorough, friendly, and efficient. He has a very calming demeanor that helps those with a little dental anxiety. Highly recommended Zboril Dental Center to everyone." Polly C.
But Won’t Sedation Add to My Final Bill?
While sedation can increase your overall treatment cost, most patients find the comfort and tranquility is worth the price. Under sedation, Dr. Zboril can often reverse years of dental problems in a single session.
At Zboril Dental Center, we can not only treat existing problems but also address issues before they worsen. Delaying professional care due to fear or anxiety can lead to the need for more substantial – and costly – treatment in the future. We strive to provide affordable services and can work with your insurance to maximize coverage.
Sedation Makes Extensive Dental Work Easier and Less Stressful
Sedation Is Optional For Most Procedures
Dr. Zboril can perform a variety of our procedures without sedation. We use an anesthetic gel to numb treatment areas and improve your comfort. However, sedation can make many procedures more comfortable and less stressful. Schedule an appointment at our office to learn more about whether sedation is right for you.
He Had Me Laughing and Happy...
"Dr. Zboril and Rachel are great! Very personable and relatable. Made me very calm and comfortable... Dr. Zboril really cares about you and not just getting you in and out. So glad they opened here, so far I had a great cleaning and an old filling replaced. Can't believe he had me laughing and happy while I'm getting a filling! Highly recommend!" Sam U.
